What is E.Y.E. all about?

NEW - Listen to Hannah Boston talk about her expectations and hopes for E.Y.E.

The Episcopal Youth Event is...

mountaintop a celebration to inspire our deeper faith in Jesus Christ, and a renewed commitment to mission and ministry; designed and led by a team of youth and adults who represent the rich diversity of the Episcopal Church;

† Each diocese in the Episcopal Church (Provinces I through IX) is invited to send a delegation to participate fully in the creative worship, music, program, and recreational opportunities that make this 6-day experience life-changing.

Each diocese is responsible for selecting a team of youth and adult sponsors who are active in congregations and/or ministries within that diocese.

E.Y.E. celebrates the rich diversity of the Episcopal Church. Each diocese is asked to build a delegation that to the greatest extent possible celebrates that diversity by including proportionate numbers of persons of different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, people with disabilities, and people representing the geographic distribution of the diocese. We need one adult per every four youth.

When? June 22 – 26, 2011 (and Three Days of Mission following the triennial event). Youth groups will have opportunities to either remain on campus through June 30 to engage in urban mission in the Greater Twin Cities Area, or may deploy to rural locations throughout the diocese and the province.

Where? Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota

Who can come to E.Y.E. 2011?
E.Y.E. is for young people who have completed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 by spring 2011 and have not already attended college. It is important to understand that all E.Y.E. participants, youth and adults, will live on campus and need to be resident for the entire event.

Mandatory Meetings:

1. We need four youth to attend the Province III December 2-4th.

2. Winter Conference teen staff will include those preparing in mission to go to EYE, Feb. 25-27, 2011

3. Mission and ministry preparation date to be announced.

"EYE is a great way to make connections with Episcopal youth from all over the world, and I know we'll have a blast all the while. Not many other teenagers get opportunities like this, so everybody should take advantage of it."
